Say Good-Bye to
Your Pointe Shoes

I've seen girls go through a phase where they just don't want to give up their pointe shoes, no matter how much the shoes are begging to be put down. :)

I understand tight budgets (trust me), but these are your feet we're talking about here. You need to take care of them because you'll be walking around on those things for the rest of your life... hopefully.

Signs to Look For

Number 1: Mushy Box

As in, the box feels like the rest of your shoe. Ouch!

You might have grown numb to the pain, but it is not worth it! Go get new shoes.

Number 2: Broken Shank

The shank is supposed to support your arch. When it is broken, your foot is more likely to sink into your shoe in weird ways, none of which are good for your feet.

Go get new shoes.

Number 3: Shoe Cuts off Circulation When Standing

I grew out of my first pair before they broke. This is normal, especially between the ages of 12 and 14.

If your toes feel abnormally cold 10 minutes after putting on your shoes, consider new ones. Pointe is hard enough without wondering if your foot is still attached.

Go get new shoes!!
