Pros Leather ballet slippers are one of the most classic looks you can get. They look so... official. The look you want is definitely a matter of personal preference unless your choreographer wants a specific shoe. Leather ballet shoes also tend to be better on wood floors. Wood floors are often more slippery than marley. Leather will give a little more traction than canvas. Cons - Leather can't be thrown in the washer. - Leather is a bit stiffer to move in. - It is a bit more expensive.

ProsCanvas ballet shoes are cheaper than leather by about 5 bucks, but still! 5 bucks! Canvas has other good qualities too. - It is durable - It is light to wear - It gives in well to the arch of your foot - It NEVER sticks to the floor I suggest canvas especially if you are a casual ballet dancer or are still growing. Cons Canvas gets dirtier. You can throw them in the washer, but they seem to break down a bit faster when I do that. So canvas or leather? It's kind’ of up to you. Try them both out or ask your dance friends or teachers if they have a preference. Either way, if the shoe fits, your foot will feel fabulous! Have other questions??
