Bloch or Capezio Lace-Up Jazz Boots?
Hi. I have to get jazz high top lace up boots for a musical for my daughter.
She has somewhat flat feet, wider foot at top of footbed(still wears med width in most shoes) but a good point. She needs a very supportive shoe as she will be leaping and turning a lot etc.
I see that there is basically the bloch or capezio. She has worn bloch tap shoes always. Which high top lace up jazz boot do you recommend? She is a 8.5 street show size. Thanks!

A musical! How fun.
Either Capezio or Bloch's jazz high top boot is going to offer minimal arch support (about the same as a jazz shoe, less than her tap shoes). If she is concerned about her arches, I'd recommend trying an insole, although that might be awkward.
(There are theraband exercises she can do to help her arches... but that's another conversation.)
Aside from that, I like Bloch's better only because it has a more contemporary style and can be folded down for a shorter look. She could conceivably use them for something after the play.
Unfortunately, soft jazz high top boots are being phased out in general, so unless her teacher knows of a store that carries her size, your options are going to be limited.
Capezio's boots are almost impossible to find online in your daughters size. Not even on ebay.
The Bloch Trisole-Hi can be found at a couple of online stores, but not the big ones. I found this on. I haven't used them before, so I'd maybe call before ordering and make sure they have her size and can guarantee that it will get to you in x amount of days.
Sansha's low boot is still more easily available (it might be too low for the right look though). Sansha also has a couple of high boots, but they are more expensive ($40-$80).
Tutu.com does make boot covers to slip over normal jazz/ballet shoes that will cost you about $40. Might be worth looking at.
Good luck!!
